Many families wonder about child entry rules at Space42 Arena and major sports venues in the UAE. During the 2025 NBA Abu Dhabi Games, children under 2 years old entered for free without a ticket. However, parents had to keep these young infants on their laps throughout the event. Furthermore, children aged 2 years and above required a valid paid ticket.

ADMITTED FREE (Lap Seat) PAID TICKET REQUIRED
Although many people search for Space42 Arena when researching event locations in Abu Dhabi, the pre-season NBA matchups actually took place at Etihad Arena. Understanding these venue policies helps parents plan their visits without experiencing unexpected delays at the gate.
Venue Rules for Etihad Arena and Space42 Arena
The venue policy was very clear for all basketball fans attending the event in Abu Dhabi. While Space42 Arena remains a prominent name in local sports, Etihad Arena on Yas Island hosted the games. Children under 2 years old did not need a separate seat reservation. Conversely, parents with kids aged 2 or older had to purchase regular tickets.
| Guest Category | Ticket Requirement | Seating Arrangement | Age Verification |
| Infants (Under 2) | Free Admission | Must sit on parent’s lap | ID required at entry |
| Children (2 and older) | Standard Paid Ticket | Reserved individual seat | Valid ticket scan |
| Minors (Under 18) | Ticket Required | Must sit near adult guardian | Accompanied by adult (21+) |
Additionally, venue officials enforced adult supervision rules strictly across all gate entrances. Attendees under 18 years old needed accompaniment by an adult aged 21 or older. Moreover, parents could not bring strollers inside the main seating bowl. The venue provided dedicated stroller parking areas outside the gates to ensure clear walkways.
NBA Abu Dhabi Games and Family Activities
The NBA Abu Dhabi Games brought exciting basketball action directly to local fans in the UAE. The event featured pre-season NBA matchups between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers. Basketball fans enjoyed watching world-class athletes compete live without traveling to the United States.
“The 2025 games provided high-energy basketball action while expanding fan activities across Abu Dhabi for visitors of all ages.”
Beyond the main arena action, families enjoyed dynamic fan events across the city. The popular NBA District hosted basketball clinics, interactive games, and player meet-and-greet sessions. Children and parents spent quality time engaging with sports culture during the entire week.

Planning Your Visit to Space42 Arena Events
Families preparing for major arena shows should always verify age policies early. Although Space42 Arena host listings provide detailed venue guidance, ticket terms can vary by organizer. Checking seating rules in advance prevents last-minute confusion at the entry doors.
Essential Family Checklist:
- Confirm exact child age limits before purchasing standard tickets online.
- Bring valid identification documents for age verification at ticket turnstiles.
- Arrive early to park strollers in designated venue storage zones.
